Questions and answers
Which wallets work with DoorProof?
Wallets that present credentials in person over Bluetooth to ISO/IEC 18013-5, such as the EU digital identity wallets and hIDhold by hashID. Employers, training providers and site managers issue the credentials into the wallet.
Which devices does DoorProof work with?
With the smartphone (iPhone or Android) or smartwatch that carries the wallet. No plastic card, no badge, no fob. At the door, a smartphone or tablet is all you need as a reader. And because DoorProof is built on open standards, it also works with future wearables as soon as they carry a compatible wallet.
Does the door need an internet connection?
No. The door checks credentials on the spot, even offline, and uploads the entries as soon as it is back online. The register checks every entry again and marks late uploads.
Does DoorProof only work in the EU?
No, it works in any country. Retention periods, time zones, required credentials and reporting channels are set per company and per door. The legal effect of the EUDI Wallet under eIDAS 2.0 applies in the EU; elsewhere DoorProof uses the same technology and open standards.
Do we have to report to an authority?
Only if you switch it on. Reporting is opt-in, per country and per authority: in real time, delayed, or not at all. Without reporting, the register stays ready and inspectors read it directly.
Which data does the register store?
For each entry: the employee number, the time, the door, the direction and the signed proof shown at the door. Names only if a report to an authority that you switch on requires them.
How long are entries kept?
As long as the law in your country requires, set per company, for example four years in Spain. After that they are deleted, and the deletion itself can be proven.
Can anyone change an entry later?
No. Every entry is hash-linked to the one before. Corrections are new entries with a reason and an author, and the original stays. Any later change to the register shows up in the check.
Can labour inspectors access the register?
Yes, with time-limited, remote read access. Every access is logged and visible to the company.
